Al-Hawaj: Scientific Research is the Key to Societies that Contribute to Civilization

Professor Abdulla Al-Hawaj, Founding President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Ahlia University, emphasized that scientific research is the driving force that transforms societies from being consumers to active contributors in creating civilization. He highlighted that the University is committed to bringing about a transformative shift in education, focusing on quality and innovative approaches, with scientific research at the core of its mission.

His remarks came during the opening of the induction day for new master’s students at the College of Business and Finance. He said to the students, “Ahlia University is your university—it started with you and is dedicated to fulfilling your ambitions. It is part of your past and a key to your promising future.”

Prof. Al-Hawaj further explained that all programs are accredited by the Higher Education Council of Bahrain and the Ministry of Education of Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the University is ranked among the leading research-producing institutions globally, according to the SCImago Index, one of the most reputable research rankings worldwide. He encouraged students to make their mark in scientific research and contribute to projects that will help shape their professional futures.

Prof. Mukhtar Al-Hashimi, Vice President for Academic Affairs, added that the University is pioneer in organizing conferences and hosting global experts and scholars, encouraging students to participate as researchers, present their innovative work, and engage in valuable discussions that will enrich their knowledge and skills.

Prof. Allam Hamdan, Dean of the College of Business and Finance, emphasized the University’s commitment to continuously updating its programs to meet global developments and the evolving demands of the job market. This ensures that graduates have the skills and experience needed to thrive in their careers.

The College offers a range of master’s degree programs designed for students with bachelor’s degrees in various fields, including the Master of Science in Sustainable Management, the Master’s in Financial Technology (FinTech), the Master’s in Forensic Accounting, and the Master’s in Business Administration.
